CLEVELAND (WJW) – Bernie Kosar. His name is synonymous with Cleveland Browns football.

The #19 legend of the gridiron is now in the fight of his life waiting on a liver transplant.

“In challenges like this with the liver, your mindset is absolutely, imperatively important,” Kosar told the FOX 8 I-Team. "I am positive and want to be positive by nature, but you've got to back it up with science and a real plan."

Kosar tells us he is planning on winning this fight with the help of doctors just as he won on the field.

The I-Team reached out to Bernie, and he agreed to share his story to let everyone know what is going on with his health. He knows what he is going through can happen to anyone.
