The Minnesota Vikings are putting a lot of faith in second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy heading into the 2025 NFL season.

After being forced to miss his entire rookie year due to a knee injury, McCarthy is set to be the team's starter this season. Sam Darnold left town in free agency and the Vikings opted to pass on veteran options to move forward with the former Michigan standout.

McCarthy is loaded with talent and potential. While the talent and potential are there, putting up good numbers on the field is a whole different game.

Throughout the early portion of training camp and preseason action, McCarthy has had great moments and he has had bad moments. Every young quarterback goes through ups and downs.
