VACAVILLE, Calif. —

A woman detained in connection with a deadly shooting at a Vacaville gas station on Sunday claims she was acting in self-defense, according to the police department.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of the ARCO gas station at Leisure Town Road and Orange Drive on Sunday evening.

One man, later identified as 42-year-old Jason Demar Robinson of San Francisco, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vacaville police on Friday said the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a violent confrontation between Robinson and a woman, and the two had previously been in a romantic relationship.
