Police have warned golfers to be on their guard after a recent rise of reports of equipment being stolen - including a £2,000 electric caddy. Officers in Warwickshire have spotted a pattern, particularly around northern parts of the town of Leamington.
The crimes have been described as 'opportunistic' with police urging those who play the game and often leave pricey equipment in the car to be vigilant.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: "Officers are asking residents to be vigilant following a rise in reports of golf clubs being stolen from vehicles in North Leamington.
"This warning comes as a warm spell of weather continues and more people are likely to be playing golf and as such leaving their clubs in the vehicles.
