SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) -- Authorities seized 23 pounds of fentanyl pills in a traffic stop in San Juan County on Thursday, according to the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.
"K-9 Nyx is at it again," the sheriff's office said in a statement on social media.
On Aug. 14, members of the San Juan County Major Crimes and Drug Task Force made a traffic stop for a traffic infraction north of Blanding. During the stop, K-9 Nyx conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted officers to the odor of illegal drugs.

Deputies conducted a probable cause search and found approximately 104,000 suspected fentanyl pills -- a total weight of around 23 pounds. The estimated street value of this amount of fentanyl is $225,000.
