The Brainerd Motorsports Park was not spared by a microburst that wiped through the Tennessee Valley Friday afternoon.

During an event, a very strong storm with high winds came through the track "with absolutely no warning," the race track said in a post on Facebook. Close

"Racers were teaming together to keep their awning from flying away and everyone was trying to find a safe place to hide. The awnings were ripped off the bleachers and wrapped themselves in the power lines, damaged bleachers, many trees fell, and the track is just a mess AGAIN."

The drag strip said although it went from sunny to scary within minutes, no one was hurt, and they appreciate everyone that has reached out to help clean up.
