A man wanted in the killing of a woman in Maine was arrested at a Florida motel Friday evening, police said.

James Clark, of Damariscotta, was wanted on a murder charge in the death of Levern Kelley, whose body was found in Waldoboro Saturday morning, according to Maine State Police.

With the help of local sheriff's deputies, Clark was arrested without incident about 6:40 p.m. at the Red Carpet Inn in the area of South Daytona, Florida, police said.

Clark is due for an extradition hearing so he can be returned to Maine, according to police. It wasn't immediately clear if the 49-year-old had an attorney who could speak to the charges.

Police didn't say what led them to charge Clark over Kelley's death.
