Loved ones of gun violence victims and members of the New Haven community joined local police in taking a stance against gun violence on Saturday morning.
While New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson says violent crimes are down in the city, he says they’re still working to end gun violence deaths.

“We’re not going to be good until we can say that there’s no homicides and no people shot,” said Jacobson.
Laquvia Jones lives in the city and says she’s lost two sons to gun violence.
“The reason why I came out here is to keep their name alive,” said Jones. “It’s not just my kids, but there’s thousands of kids that are gunned down.”
