Phoenix police are investigating a Friday morning shooting that killed a 41-year-old man.

The shooting occurred about 3:45 a.m. Aug. 15 near 13 th and Southern avenues, where officers found Gabino Martinez Jr. on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phoenix Police Department detectives conducted interviews at the scene and searched for video surveillance, according to a release.
