ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A 36-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash between a semi and county transportation van.

Deputies with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Services responded to the crash before 2 p.m. yesterday, in Mendon Township.

During the investigation, they learned that the woman, identified as Beatrice Jones-Taylor, ran a stop sign and got hit be the semi, which was heading eastbound.

Deputies found Beatrice with life-threatening injuries upon arrival, then she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol and speed don’t currently appear to be a factor in this crash.
