PHOENIX — You’ve probably seen the video. It has gone viral on social media with millions of views.

The video shows a stepfather making his stepson do push-ups and squats as punishment for being disrespectful to his mother.

In the video, the boy tells his mother to “chill” after she told him to stop misbehaving.

Responses to the video have been divided.

The video has gained praise from some, while others condemn it, calling it public shaming.

Lyddon said she does not think what happens in the video crosses the line and even compared it to what happens in sports, when coaches push athletes to do more and do better.
