WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A fire truck was struck while responding to a minor accident scene on Saturday in Wallingford, state police said.

The incident took place shortly after noon on I-91 North near Exit 14.

Wallingford Fire Department officials were responding to a van fire in the area. Upon arrival the fire had been extinguished.

The East Wallingford Volunteer Fire Department Engine 8 remained on scene to assist state police and block the right lane of the highway.
