A national human rights organization is calling on London city hall to change the name of a city street that honours a prominent German industrialist and member of the Nazi party.

In a statement, the Toronto-based Friends Of Simon Wiesenthal Center – a non-profit dedicated to Holocaust education and combating antisemitism – urged Mayor Josh Morgan and the city to change the name of Max Brose Drive.

“There’s lots of scenarios that happen where there’s many shades of grey, where there can be debate back and forth. This is not one of them,” said Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, a senior director of policy and advocacy at the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
