Birding with the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Through the spring and fall migratory seasons, the hot summer months and yes — even with snow on the ground — the can be found in the same place the first Saturday of every month. The Spring Run Trail in Saratoga Springs plays host to the group’s First Saturday bird walks, light excursions spent wandering down an accessible area walkway.

This month I was invited by Damon Russo, a member of the Society, to join the group for its Aug. 2 outing. It would mark my first time birding with strangers. Of course I said yes!
