CHICAGO (WGN) — A former church in West Humboldt Park is home to a non-profit offering holistic support for young lives, one hook and punch at a time.

Boxing is way of life for high school junior and North Lawndale resident Jamill Willis.

“I started when I was 10, I’m 16 now,” he said.

Willis is one of nearly 300 student fighters who are a part of The Bloc Chicago, a non-profit organization teaching 10 through 18-year-olds from the West Side the discipline of boxing.

“I love being able to fight. I also love the people here,” Willis said.
