The Tulsa football team tried to get a real game feel Saturday during its second scrimmage of fall camp, but injuries at least partially got in the way.

New Hurricane coach Tre Lamb said his team played all or part of the scrimmage without as many as 15 key players due to various injuries. He said none were season ending, but the worst is starting linebacker Chris Thompson, who will be out at least six weeks with a broken ankle.

“We’re not as deep as you would like, and so we really want to protect our best players,” Lamb said. “We've got to keep them healthy.
