ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is currently on the run after Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies said he violently attacked his aunt and set her house on fire. On August 10, Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies received a call from a home near Tramway and Paseo del Norte.

The caller was crying and pleading with dispatch for help, stating that she had been attacked in her sleep and slammed to the ground. When deputies arrived, they entered through the garage, but as they opened the door to get inside, they were overwhelmed by smoke. Deputies immediately called for fire rescue and attempted to reach the woman through the front door.
