FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) -- A Fuquay-Varina man is facing a felony and a DWI charge after police said he was driving the wrong way on N.C. 55 and crashed, seriously injuring a woman last weekend.

The incident was reported on Sunday, August 10, along N.C. 55 in Fuquay-Varina, according to an arrest warrant completed by an officer with the Fuquay-Varina Police Department.

Jeremy James McAlister, 43, was arrested Saturday on charges of felony serious injury by vehicle, driving the wrong way on a dual lane highway, and DWI, according to the arrest warrant.

The crash caused a "serious injury" -- a broken arm -- to a woman with the suspect driving "while subject to an impairing substance," the warrant said.
