RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A crash has left one person seriously injured and an intersection closed without traffic lights Sunday morning in north Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers were called around 9 a.m. to a two-car crash on Green Road and New Hope Road.
Upon arrival, officers said they found one person with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Officers said the victim of the crash was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
From their preliminary investigation, officers said one vehicle swerved, overcorrected and hit a utility pole — knocking down power lines and traffic lights.
Officers said Duke Energy was at the scene repairing the damage. No outages for residents were reported by the electricity providers in the area.
