BANGOR -- On Saturday, August 16, at the Union Street Complex in Bangor, a tradition blending competition and generosity was on full display.
27 teams competed in the annual Wayne's Wiffle for a Wish event.
According to the nonprofits President and Founder Wayne Harvey, all of the money raised goes towards Make-A-Wish Maine.
While it is a wiffle ball competition, the cause of why they're playing is far greater.
"We start the day off every year with a message from Make-A-Wish. We had one of their board members that came in and spoke with us. Then, we have a family that has benefited from Make-A-Wish.
