SANTA FE, N.M. —

Friday evening and early Saturday morning, the Santa Fe Police Department conducted traffic stops and arrested three individuals who were driving recklessly.

On Friday evening, around 7:51 pm, a DWI officer observed a black Chevrolet Camaro and a gray Dodge Charger traveling more than the posted speed limit, going 97 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone.

The officer located the Camero and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Bryan Sarmiento, 20, of Santa Fe, and he was taken into custody and charged with racing on highways, reckless driving, abuse of a child, improper equipment-modified muffler and sunscreening material on windows. He was booked into Santa Fe County Detention Center.
