A pursuit of a speeding vehicle started on Interstate 93 and ended in a field with a crash into a cruiser, New Hampshire State Police said in a news release Saturday.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, a trooper reportedly saw an SUV driving at 93 miles per hour north on I-93 in Concord. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver continued and the trooper gave chase, police said.

The SUV, later identified as a 2012 Toyota RAV4, turned off the highway at Exit 17, eventually driving through a steel gate blocking off a class VI road and driving through a field on private property, according to the release. The RAV4 crashed into a State Police cruiser, ending the pursuit, police said.

The SUV driver, whom police identified as Heather Lewis, 43, of Merrimack, was arrested and charged
