LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Moms and moms-to-be in the city of Lansing got the chance to receive help on Saturday thanks to the 3rd annual Capital City Baby Shower.

The baby shower helps more than 100 families who either have a baby or are expecting to have a baby at no cost.

Jasmine Fountain the founder, shared the importance of the event.

“There’s a huge need in this city for people to get involved in this kind of work because there are so many people who are just in need of the basic necessities. Having a baby is so expensive from diapers to formula, it adds up,” said Fountain. “So, we have a lot of people coming out here demonstrating that need,” said Fountain.
