Ronald Carlton Harmon, 43, was arrested on Friday for breaking into the Tavares Public Works Department with a white skid steer.

The Tavares Police Department responded to a reported robbery at 920 Captain Haynes Road, where a TPWD employee informed them that the building and two vehicles had been broken into.

Surveillance footage shows Harmon using a skid steer to force open a closed garage door, causing an estimated $40,000 worth of damage.

A glass door on the south side of the building had been shattered, and several tools and copper water valve parts were located outside the door.

A pry bar and hammer were found in the kitchen area of the building.

A city of Tavares 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty truck was also reported missing from the property.
