Two rounds of severe storms dropped a deluge of rain on Minnesota on Friday night and Saturday morning.
A system swept through the state Friday afternoon, dropping several inches of rain and bringing strong gusts of wind that contributed to around 15,000 households in the Twin Cities area losing power.
More power outages followed with an early morning storm that was severe in central Minnesota. While it had weakened by the time it reached the metro area, it was still strong enough for several more inches of rain.
Storms on Saturday night and early Sunday were expected to bring more rain to parts of the state, and more could follow on Sunday evening.
