COLUMBUS, Ohio (WXIX) - Governor DeWine says that Ohio National Guard troops will be deployed to Washington, D.C. in the coming days.

Governor Mike DeWine said in a press release Saturday that he is sending 150 Ohio National Guard troops to the nation’s capital at the request of the Secretary of the Army.

DeWine says that the Ohio National Guard members “will carry out presence patrols and serve as added security.”

The Ohio National Guard is expected to arrive in DC in the coming days.
