CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte Preparatory School officials debuted its new lower school Saturday evening with hundreds of families in attendance.

"In June of 2023. Tragic fire burned down our original building. And it's been a heroic effort and an example of resilience to get to this day. And we're here to celebrate the community's resilience, the positivity. And we're excited," said Head of School for Charlotte Preparatory, Todd Ballaban.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is still active. Charlotte Preparatory officials did say the lower school didn't have a sprinkler system.
