MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A homeless woman is jailed for allegedly trying to run over a man with her car on Friday at Bloomington’s Miller Park, coming only a few feet from children playing at the park’s splash pad.

Nyla Manney, 21, had been arguing with her boyfriend at Miller Park on Friday. He walked away, and she drove onto the grass attempting to hit him, according to a court document.

Witnesses told police Manney drove within 10 feet of the splash pad where “multiple” children were playing.

The man told police he may have been struck on the leg with the vehicle, but he was not injured.

The court document indicated the couple was homeless and living in Manney’s car.

She’s being held now in the McLean County Jail on charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
