( 25News Now ) - Friends of Bill Sulaski called him ‘The Chairman’ for the many leadership positions he held including chair of Illinois State University’s governing board.
Sulaski was 85 when he died on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Sulaski was born in Peoria, earned a master’s degree in accounting at Bradley University before moving to Bloomington where he started a 50-year professional, civic, and volunteer career.
“Few people have given as much to our Twin Cities as Bill Sulaski gave,” said Don Munson, a close friend and longtime morning show host on WJBC Radio in Bloomington.
Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar appointed Sulaski to the Board of Regents, which at the time was the governing board for ISU, Northern Illinois and Sangamon State universities, which is now the University of Illinois at Spri
