An argument turned into gun violence Saturday evening at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, leaving a man in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center.

Seattle police officers arrested a man for investigation of first-degree assault, spokesperson Detective Eric Muñoz said.

Two others who were with the alleged shooter were detained, but not arrested.

Just after 8 p.m. Saturday, police responded to reports of gunfire at the popular park, which Muñoz described as a “scene of chaos” when officers arrived.

They found a man in his mid-30s who had been shot in his neck and torso, and began treating him. An onlooker who was a trauma doctor helped the officers before the Seattle Fire Department showed up and took over medical treatment. The man was taken to Harborview with life-threatening in
