Chris Hemsworth faces down extreme physical trials in his National Geographic docuseries Limitless , which returns for a second season this week, from fasting and freezing plunges to being pepper sprayed and even electrocuted.

But in chatting with me for our Limitless: Live Better Now cover story, the actor revealed that his toughest challenge was not any of the stunts, it was stepping onstage with Ed Sheeran in front of a massive stadium crowd.

Hemsworth admitted to me that the key sequence of episode 1 (" Brain Power ") of season 2 of the re-titled Limitless season 2 presented the greatest challenge out of everything he experienced over two years of shooting across six countries:
