Cool temperatures and light winds helped firefighters across the province, as crews contend with three major wildfires.

Kingston Fire

The Kingston fire saw little growth through Saturday, remaining at over 9,500 hectares, and overnight, frost helped with suppression efforts.

Northerly winds worked in favour of ground crews, allowing the Canadian Armed Forces and volunteer fire departments to create a fuel break about four kilometres in length.

Martin Lake Fire

In central, ground crews worked on saving cabins near Martin Lake and Rushy Pond on Saturday.
