Fire departments in the Conception Bay North area are reminding residents of the risks due to wildfire smoke in the area.
Heavy smoke can be seen throughout parts of the area, prompting an Environment Canada Air Quality warning for the region.
There is no current warning for air quality in metro.
The weather service says people should reschedule outdoor sporting activity, use a clean air filter in your ventilation system and wear an N95 if needed.
It’s recommended to keep windows and doors closed and turn off air exchangers and HVAC units to help reduce indoor smoke exposure.
Anyone who does show symptoms due to the wildfire smoke is asked to contact 811 or a health care provider.
