Despite cooler temperatures and a very brief rainfall on Friday, the provincial government has decided to extend the province-wide ban on all off-road vehicles on forested land.

The temporary ban was imposed last week because of extreme dry conditions, and was reassessed last evening.

The province says a review of current wildfire conditions means that the ban will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday.

The ban will be reviewed again at that time based on the wildfire index and fire behaviour.
