VIRGINIA (DC News Now) -- Weeks after a ticket purchased in the Commonwealth made Virginia Lottery history, one lucky person has claimed the top prize.

The Virginia Lottery said one lottery ticket purchased earlier this summer matched all six numbers in the June 27 Mega Millions drawing, raking in $348 million — the largest jackpot ever won in Virginia.

The prizewinner purchased the golden ticket at E & C VA, located at 14878 Northumberland Highway in Burgess, Va. For about four weeks, the jackpot went unclaimed until one lucky player walked into Virginia Lottery headquarters in Richmond and presented officials with the life-changing ticket.
