Driving licence changes have gained support - with certain drivers facing being BANNED from carrying passengers. The Labour Party government and Department for Transport has previously dismissed calls to introduce a Graduated Driving Licence scheme.

Experts have called out the government for not doing more to introduce driving licence rules. The government has been urged to ban newly qualified drivers ffrom carrying same-age passengers.

The measure forms part of a Graduated Driving Licence. After new over-70 rules were announced this week, Edmund King OBE, President of the AA, said that the Government's road safety strategy was "long overdue" but failed to take into account the benefits of a GDL.
