Drivers heading out on the road between on Friday for the August Bank Holiday weekend have urged to consider placing an empty container in their car boots. Magdalena Petrusic, a travel guru from Stonehenge Tours & Tickets , has issued her tips for motorists.
She said: "It is important for those planning to drive over the long weekend to prepare and try to avoid getting caught up in congestion." She recommended: "The best times to travel are Friday, very early in the morning (before 6 am) or later at night, after 10 pm.
"Also, Saturday after 3 pm, when most people have arrived at their destination already." She warned drivers to ensure they are packing "ample food and water" and have "charged devices" and "even an empty petrol container."
