Iread the story by Molly Myers in the Chico Enterprise Record a few days ago about damselflies and it immediately created a connection.
According to the story (that was published in Saturday’s Daily Democrat) damselflies are said to bring good fortune when fishing.
A Chico State professor reported that if a damselfly landed on a fishing rod it was considered a “lucky bug” and could increase the chances of catching fish. The professor also reported it didn’t work most of the time.
That makes sense to me, since the only bugs that ever came out when I went fishing were mosquitoes. It didn’t matter the day, the time or the weather, if I baited a hook and cast it into the water, mosquitoes were the first to the dinner table.
