Jesse Metcalfe was desperately unaware of any on-set drama.

Indeed, the Desperate Housewives alum insisted he was “oblivious” to the rumored tension between his costars—including Eva Longoria , Felicity Huffman , Nicollette Sheridan , Marcia Cross and Teri Hatcher —while he was playing teenage gardener John Roland on the ABC soap opera.

“There's a lot of stories about all the drama on that set between some of our lead females,” Jesse said while appearing on a recent panel, per People . “I was oblivious to it, basically, because I was just so thrilled to be on a show and just so in the moment.”

After all, the 46-year-old recalled being “just happy to have a job” at that point in his acting career.
