HOWLAND An OVI checkpoint conducted Saturday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Howland Township Police Department resulted in no arrests for operating a vehicle while under the influence.
The two-hour checkpoint took place on Elm Road near Overland Avenue from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Authorities said officers made contact with 219 drivers and diverted three for sobriety testing. The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Warren Post reported none of the three were arrested.
Saturation patrols were also conducted in the area.
