Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Leicester . Police were called by the East Midlands Ambulance Service to reports of an incident in Danvers Road, Westcotes, at 10.25am today (Sunday, August 17).

The alleged victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition. Officers attended the scene and arrested two men in connection with the incident.

Leicestershire Police said on Sunday evening that officers are investigating reports of an argument which led to the man being stabbed inside an address. The two arrested men, aged 49 and 50, are currently in police custody.

A force spokeswoman said: "Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident".
