One male has died and another male is injured after a shooting in New Haven early Sunday morning.
Officers assigned to a bar detail heard what they believed to be gunshots on College Street shortly before 3 a.m. As officers ran towards that area, they said they found an unresponsive male, later identified as 18-year-old Dillon Cornelius, of West Haven, laying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Cornelius was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He later died.
A large crime scene was established along College Street. Numerous shell casings were found and police said several vehicles and businesses in the area were damaged from gunfire.
