OSCEOLA COUNTY, MI – Rescue crews recovered the body of a person who went missing in Big Lake following a boating accident.

The victim was found Sunday morning, Aug. 17, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The victim’s identity was not released.

Emergency crews were called Saturday to Big Lake in Evart for a report of a boating accident . One individual went underwater and did not resurface, police said.

Search operations were halted Saturday night due to darkness.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
