OCEANA COUNTY, MI – Police are advising residents to be alert as authorities search for an armed man, Michigan State Police said.

Troopers are looking for 59-year-old Don Albert Stapel Jr. Those who live in the 7500 block of Fox Road in Mears are asked to shelter in place as Stapel may be in the woods.

He is last known to be wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans.

If you see Stapel, police ask you call 911.
