U.S. Marshals Locate Suspect Hiding Under Bed, Await Extradition

A man wanted for murder in Mississippi was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) at a residence in Memphis, bringing an end to a multi-day manhunt. Malcolm Kohn, a fugitive from Leflore County, Mississippi, was apprehended by the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) and is now awaiting extradition back to Mississippi.

The case began on August 4, 2025, when Joshua Brewer was shot in front of a business in Greenwood, Mississippi. Brewer was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The following day, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Malcolm Kohn for the crime. The USMS Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force adopted the case for a fugitive investigation.
