Tampa Police Actively De-Escalating Standoff With Armed Man On W. Estrella Street

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police are on the scene of an active situation in the 4700 block of W. Estrella St., where officers are engaged in a crisis de-escalation effort involving an armed man who has made suicidal statements.

The individual is currently alone inside a vehicle. According to the Tampa Police Department, all officers on the scene are trained in crisis de-escalation, and their primary focus is to achieve a safe and peaceful resolution.

The department’s trained negotiators are in direct contact with the man and are working to ensure he receives the care he needs.
