Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a death warrant for David Pittman, a 63-year-old man convicted of a brutal triple murder and arson in 1991.

The warrant, signed Friday, marks the 12th execution scheduled in the state this year, a new record that surpasses the previous high of eight executions in 2014. If carried out, Pittman’s execution will be the 10th in Florida this year, further solidifying its lead as the state with the most executions in 2025.
