The U.S. State Department has temporarily halted the issuance of visitor visas to individuals from Gaza, a decision that has sparked debate and drawn attention to the complex intersection of humanitarian aid, national security, and political influence.

The pause came after conservative activist Laura Loomer posted videos of Gaza children arriving in the U.S. for medical treatment, raising questions about the vetting process and calling the visas a “national security threat.”
