A motorcyclist died early Sunday as a result of a collision with a vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County, according to authorities.
New Jersey State Police troopers responded to a reported crash on the southbound outer lanes of the Turnpike at milepost 84.6 in Edison at 3:56 a.m., state police spokesperson Sgt. Charles Marchan said.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 39-year-old male from Bristol, Pennsylvania operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the rear of a cargo van while traveling south.
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and died as a result of his injuries. The investigation is still ongoing
The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of his family.
