BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - It will be a warm start to your Monday with lows in the 70s. Temperatures will heat up quickly by late morning into the afternoon.

Highs are forecast to reach the mid-90s. The only relief from the heat will be due to rain in the second half of the day.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and may produce heavy downpours. Unfortunately, there will be many locations that will not see rain on Monday.

Summer heat will hold strong with higher rain chances by the end of the workweek.
